Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market #5286

Wal-Mart NMWhether I like it or not, I fully realize that Wal-Mart is a necessary evil in our great city. Wal-Mart, like every other chain of stores, has some good stores and some very bad stores. That being said, I bring to your attention Neighborhood Market Store #5286, located at 9320 North Penn Avenue. I live near this store and from time to time I have to go in for a few necessities until I can make a trip to Crest Foods, which by the way is one of the best grocery stores in the metro. Every time I go into this Neighborhood Market, not only does my blood pressure rise unexpectedly, but my soul also cries for mercy as though it were in the grasp of the dark one himself. The employees in this store walk around as if they are confused and looking for the secret passage out. As for the typical patrons of this store, they present themselves as zombies stuck on auto-pilot. This store always appears as though it is out of stock of virtually everything and the items that are in stock are frequently past the sell by date or down right expired. On my last visit, while I was waiting in one of the two open check out lanes the lady in front of me was haggling with the manager to make her a deal on 4 bags of coleslaw mix that had expired three days before. She told the manager they were the last four bags and that the employee in produce told her that the store would not order more until they sold all that they had in stock. The manager gave in and sold it to her for 50 cents a bag and never once apologized for the lack of fresh product. This is just one of the many horrific tales that I could share with you involving this particular location. However, I must stop at this point, otherwise I might be haunted with nightmares in my sleep tonight.
